In this tutorial, I’m going to explain in detailed instructions of “How to turn off windows 10 Updates permanently”.
As you already know that, in Windows 10 you can not prevent the updates to download and installation by just disabling the windows update service.
because when you disable the windows update service from services.msc windows 10 will override the setting and force the service to start.
Note: To avoid security risks and Windows problems (e.g. new software support, drivers issues, etc… ) it is not recommended to disable the Windows 10 update, but in some cases, there is the need to do that, especially if you have problems during installing an update to your system or if you face stability issues or other problems after installing an update. do at your own risk.
In this method, we will try to disable the Automatic Update in Windows 10 by rename to Windows Update Service file “wuaueng.dll”.
To do that follow the steps below…
Step 1: Open Windows Explorer and go to location “C:\Windows\System32\”.
Step 2: Locate the wuaueng.dll file.

Step 20: Restart your machine.
Step 21: From now onwards, you ‘ll receive the following message in Windows Update: “There were problems installing some updates, but we’ll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: Error 0x80080005”
